Take It Easy: How to Have Grace for Yourself

I am clumsily reimagining what it means to be "me" - as an artist, a partner, a colleague, and a leader, in a world that is rushing back to business.

As much as my ego wants to dive in head-first, I don't think I'm all-the-way ready.

The lesson is that wading in from the shallow end may be the best approach, even if I feel embarrassed for taking baby steps.

Everybody has their own pace and their own methods.

A few reminders I've written to inspire more grace for myself along the journey:

  1. I've come a long way and my experience is unique.

  2. Growth is a process that takes time and requires discomfort.

  3. No need to judge my emotions as good or bad.

  4. Rest stops are essential and help is available.

  5. Little things are worth celebrating.
